Current Board

Peter Lockie  CHAIR

Peter Lockie holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Edinburgh and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.  He is currently President of Inverleith Consulting Inc., which provides a range of management consulting services.  Previously Peter worked at Camosun College for fifteen years, most recently as Interim President and prior to that as Vice President, Administration and Chief Financial Officer.  He is personally committed to community involvement and has been on the Boards of the United Way of Greater Victoria, the Victoria Cool Aid Society and the Pacific Institute for Sport Excellence.  He is a lifelong recreational runner

JOHN MACMILLAN  President

John has been the President of 94FORWARD since 2007.  In this role John relies heavily on his experience as a high performance coach with the National Rugby Centre (1998-2005) and the Canadian Men’s National Team (RWC 2003 Australia).  John works closely with the Olympic coaches and performance directors while advising the Board on the financial management of the fund and the annual spending programs.  Prior to being a professional coach John attended York University and the National Coaching Institute-Victoria.

liz Ashton  DIRECTOR

Dr. Liz Ashton was President of Camosun College from 1994-2009. She was a founding Board member of the Pacific Institute for Sport Excellence (PISE) and Chair of the British Columbia Colleges & Institutes, a group that acts as a voice for the B.C. College and Institute System.  Dr. Ashton holds a PhD in Education Administration from the University of Texas at Austin and received an Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree from Royal Roads University in 2006.

Liz was a member of the Canadian Equestrian Team from 1969 to 1986, winning a Silver Medal at the Pan American Games in 1975 and captaining the Gold Medal win for the Canadian Eventing team at the World Championships in 1978. She was a member of three Olympic Teams. 

 

Kelly Mann director

Kelly is a retired sport administrator, most recently was the President and CEO of the BC Games Society, a provincial government crown corporation. In his capacity as the lead for that organization, he moved the Games from a participation model to one of complete sport development. That model, now emulated by several provinces ensured a stronger pathway to Canada Games and international competitions for BC's athletes, coaches and officials.

He is a past Board member of PISE, the Prince George 2015 Canada Winter Games, and a founding member of KidSport Greater Victoria plus numerous other committees and boards.

For his contribution to sport in BC, he was recognized as an inductee into the BC Sports Hall of Fame in the Builders' category and the Community Achievement Award by the Province BC.
